Batiking is an ancient process, originating in Indonesia, where artists color and create designs on fabric through wax-resist dyeing. The artists apply hot wax to certain parts of a cloth with metal stamps, soak it in various dye baths, then peel off or boil away the wax to reveal where the fabric has “resisted” the dyes.
Each batik sarong is truly a handmade piece of art. We pride ourselves in dealing directly with Indonesian craftspeople and villages ensuring fair trade, fair prices, and quality products designed to inspire an island attitude.
Our Batik Sarongs include a coconut sarong clip & booklet detailing the many different ways to style our sarongs!
